Coding Workshop
All steps can be found at this link: CODING WORKSHOP DOWNLOADS. In particular, ensure that you:
Download Jupyter Notebook.
Download the diabetes and pneumonia datasets.
Watch the introductory video, depending on your level of experience. The Coding workshop will stem from the techniques and concepts explored in the video.
First Aid Workshop
You will need to have a long-sleeve t-shirt on hand for this workshop. If you do not specifically have one, any oversized t-shirt or sweater should suffice!
Suturing Workshop
Watch the video of the taster workshop we held in November to help you understand the basics of holding the equipment and the technique of the basic simple interrupted suture. Due to limited supplies, it is NOT recommended to practice these sutures - there will be time during the workshop to go over the taster material with your medical student instructors. You can find this video at this link: SUTURING INTRO VIDEO.
For the date of the conference, you will require a single banana, a knife, a pair of scissors, and your suturing kit.
The banana will be what you are practicing suturing on, the knife will be used to cut the banana in half and cut a slit into the banana, and the scissors are needed to cut the sutures. (Any ordinary knife and pair of scissors will be fine! Just whatever you have at home.)
The suturing kits are en route to those of you who filled out the Google Form with your addresses earlier this month. There is no tracking number associated with them. We will be recording the suturing workshop, so if you have not received your kit by the time the workshop begins, you will be able to follow along asynchronously after receiving your kit.
